In my hometown, having a house with an east-facing front door is a selling point. Today I read that righteousness comes from the east.

Isaiah 41:3, “Who has roused up one [Cyrus] from the east, whom He calls in righteousness to His service and whom victory meets at every step…”

“Righteousness was always raised up from the East. Paradise was east of Eden. The cherubim were at the east of the garden. Abraham was called from the East. Judea, the birth-place of Messiah, was in the East.” Critical and Explanatory Commentary, Vol. I
