I got an unexpected visit from my granddaughter yesterday. As much as she loves me, her hero of the day was her uncle who took her to the park. It doesn’t matter when she comes, I am always thrilled to see her.

Jesus’ return to earth will be unexpected. The antichrist will also come. We read about him in today’s verse.

Daniel 7:25, “And he shall speak words against the Most High [God] and shall wear out the saints of the Most High and think to change the time [of sacred feasts and holy days] and the law; and the saints shall be given into his hand for a time, two times, and half a time [three and one-half years].”

“One year, two years and a half-year: 1260 days; 42 months…The passages in favor of a year-day theory are Ezekiel 4:6, where each day of the forty during which Ezekiel lay on his right side is defined by God as meaning a year…The beginning of the 1260 years is set by Elliot at 592 A.D. But 752 A.D. is the most likely date…for it was then first that the little horn plucked up three horns, and so became the prolongation of the fourth secular kingdom. [Newton] This would bring us down to about 2000 A.D., or the seventh thousand millenary from creation.” Critical and Explanatory Commentary, Vol. I

The Bible is clear that no one knows the day or hour. Obviously, the seven years did not begin in the year 2000 or we would be living in the 1000 years of peace, (Revelations 20:1-6).

Matthew 24:34 and 35 tells us when we see the signs, we know that Jesus is right at the door and this generation will not pass away until all things have happened.

One sign was that Israel would be restored in one day, Ezekiel 21, 22. Israel became a nation in 1948.

We are not sure how many years complete a generation. Those who thought 40 years expected Christ to return in 1988 and lived accordingly. If a generation is 70 years or 80 years, (Psalms 90:10), He will return in 2018 or 2028. Maybe a generation is 100 years and he will return in 2048. No one knows.

The point I’m making is He is coming and it will be unexpected and thrilling!
