I received a comment to today on a post from January. It seemed to ask a philosophical question and philosophy is not my forte. I was reminded of that comment when I read today’s verse.

Job 15:10, “We have the benefit of wisdom older than your father.”

This verse was spoken by Eliphaz who came to comfort Job. But repeating platitudes offers little comfort.

I like Job’s response.

Job 16:4, 5, “If I were in your place, it would be easy to criticize or to give advice. But I would offer hope and comfort instead.”

That is my desire in responding to the comment. I want to offer hope and comfort.
