For a Time Like This

Esther 4:13, 14, “He sent back this reply, ‘Don’t think that you will escape being killed with the rest of the Jews, just because you live in the king’s palace. If you don’t speak up now, we will somehow get help, but you and your family will be killed. It could be that you were made queen for a time like this!'”

Esther was well established. She had a male servant, 4:5; a family, 4:14; servant girls, 4:16; her own apartment where she could prepare meals, 5:4. She had not revealed that she was a Jew. She might have been spared.

But God gave her this position, and the benefits, to not only save the Jews, but to annihilate the Amalekites as he promised to do hundreds of years before, (see 1 Samuel 15:1-33; Exodus 17:8-16).

I am well established. What assignment does God have for me? Or you?
