God Takes Sheep from the Shepherd

Ezekiel 34:10, “Thus says the Lord God, Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will require my sheep at their hand and put a stop to their feeding the sheep. No longer shall the shepherds feed themselves. I will rescue my sheep from their mouths, that they may not be food for them.” ESV

In the movie, “Do You Believe,” the character named “Kriminal” told of his aunt’s conversion. After she prayed with a television evangelist, he talked her into sending all of her money to him.

In the Bible, shepherds represent pastors and sheep represent their congregation. God doesn’t condone the actions of that television evangelist. He rescues the sheep and requires an accounting from the shepherd.

Not all preachers on TV are after money. Many just want to use the media to spread the gospel. Yes, they do request gifts, above your tithes, because television is extremely expensive. It is difficult to pay those expenses from the offerings in a local church.

How do I know? I sang on a local program, “Gospel Lighthouse Telecast” for 5 years and I witnessed the financial struggle.
