The Ministering Women

Exodus 38:8, “He made the basin of bronze and its stand of bronze, from the mirrors of the ministering women who ministered in the entrance of the tent of meeting.” ESV

Who were the ministering women?

“Ministering, ‘tsaba’ – to mass (an army or servants) – do duty…minister…serve…a gathering…into service…Finally, this word described the religious service in the tabernacle (Exodus 38:8; Numbers 4:23; 8:24; 1 Samuel 2:22).” ESV Hebrew-Greek Key Word Study Bible Definition

They were a large group of women who wanted to be close to God. Anna, the prophetess in Luke 2:36-38, was also a ministering woman. She spent her days in the temple worshipping, fasting, and praying. She was there when Jesus was presented at the temple.
