Well, That was Awkward

When I stepped down from my job in 2008, we had to cut corners. David’s cell phone broke and I gave him mine. I called everyone from our landline.

After losing me in Wal-Mart one too many times, David got me a cell phone with a new number. Even though I’ve had it for over a year, I always get the same response when I send a text…

“Who is this?”

I got that message today and sent a detailed text of the person to whom I was referring.

“Again, who is this?”

I was embarrassed and humbled as I sent a text with my name. How does God use humbling experiences?

Deuteronomy 8:2, “…that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not.” ESV

God promises that he uses those times to do us good in the end, (8:16).

Dear Lord,

Thank you for your word, (8:3); your discipline, (8:5); your provision, (8:9); filling us with food, (8:10); giving us the power to get wealth, (8:18); and doing everything for our good, (10:12).

Amen
