All the People Shall Say ‘Amen’

I came in a little too fast and drove up on the curb as I parked the truck. David was standing at the doorway of the lumberyard waiting for me to pick him up.

I jumped out and said, “My eyes are still dilated from the eye doctor appointment and I can’t get the seat belt to retract.”

A man parked two cars behind me laughed as he got into his vehicle. That’s when I noticed the lettering on his door…”POLICE.”

He turned on his flashing lights and I started to panic. David informed me, “He’s going after the woman who ran the stop sign.”

I shut my eyes and held my breath until he passed by. Those red and blue lights are brighter when your eyes are dilated!

We had to go to HyVee to get groceries for our daughter’s birthday dinner tomorrow. I couldn’t believe it…there was an ambulance and two police cars there!

I grabbed David’s arm and shut my eyes as we walked to the door. I made him promise not let me walk into any walls. He had to comply, because to do otherwise would bring a curse.

Deuteronomy 27:18, “Cursed be anyone who misleads a blind man on the road. And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.'” ESV

Dear Lord,

Thank you for the good report at the eye doctor. Thank you that the bad they expected did not happen and that my eyes actually improved. You get the credit for that!
