Last night we had a taco bar to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. I had been cooking all afternoon and must have been tired because when I went to fill the ice bucket, I dumped the ice onto the tray the bucket was sitting on. Knowing the tray was clean, I quickly scooped the ice up and put it in the bucket.
A minute later, Derek’s girlfriend, Rachel, walked in and asked, “How’s it going?”
After a seconds hesitation, I told her about the ice. She kept my secret. I decided to share it after I read this verse…
Deuteronomy 29:29, “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.” ESV
Moses spoke these words on his 120th birthday, (31:1). Once a secret is revealed, it no longer has power over us.
Thank you for loving us in spite of our secrets.
