Just Wait

I just deleted my most popular pin on my Pinterest page, pinterest.com/frugalfish. It was called, “How to Make a Living by Blogging.”

If I had that pin, why have I not made any money?

Simple. God doesn’t want me to rely on my blogs; he wants me to rely on him. He doesn’t even want me to rely on my husband’s job. He proved his faithfulness during the three months my husband was unemployed.

When we give to God first, he multiplies the 90% to meet our needs.

God’s ways are higher than man’s wisdom. In fact, God is leading me to do something crazy…delete the ads from my frugalfish.org  blog and pay to make that blog “ad free” like this one. (My blogs are already “pop-up free.”)

Since my blogs are not connected to a PayPal account, I cannot accept donations! That means I will have to rely on God to provide the funds to keep my domain names, domain mapping, and cover the fees to keep off all ads.

I will just have to wait and see.

Achan missed out on riches by taking from the city God had assigned as a “firstfruit” or a “tithe.” It cost him and his entire family their lives. If only he had waited for the next battle!

Joshua 8:2, “And you shall do to Ai and its king as you did to Jericho and its king. Only its spoil and its livestock you shall take as plunder for yourselves…” ESV

“The command from the Lord regarding the plunder of Jericho treated it as the firstfruits of Canaan and did not apply to all the other cities they would conquer (Deuteronomy 20:10-18). Whatever they took from Jericho was reserved exclusively for God because the firstfruits belonged to him (Exodus 23:19).” ESV Hebrew-Greek Key Word Study Bible Notes

Dear Lord,

Thank you for meeting my needs. I look forward to seeing how you will supply these funds.

Amen

  1. God met that need by giving me the opportunity to make silk gloves. It was a one-time promotion at my daughter’s workplace. I made enough gloves, at home, to cover the costs of both of my blogs!
