When I started playing keyboard for worship services, I would pick a lead sound for each song. Sometimes it was piano or strings or pads, but most recordings use 3 or more keyboards! Each keyboard plays a particular part.
I was thrilled when Whitney decided to join the worship band. She played the pads or strings and I was able to tinkle on the piano parts to my heart’s content.
Joe, the guitar player, was skeptical until he heard us play together. We don’t both play all the time. We take turns playing lead depending on the song.
We won him over. He started calling us, “Wham.” We each have a part to play and we only play our part.
Deborah and Barak each had a part to play in the war against the Midianites. When they won the war, they sang a song together.
Judges 5:1, “Then sang Deborah and Barak…” ESV
“Barak is commended for his faith (Hebrews 11:32) because he trusted God and depended upon God’s spokesperson, Deborah.” ESV Hebrew-Greek Key Word Study Bible Notes
Please send our Barak (Obama) a “Deborah,” a spokesperson for you.
