All a Mother Wants…

There is a quote I’ve read that says:

“All a mother wants is for her children to love each other after she is gone.”

I am not leaving that to chance. Every day I pray:

  1. Ecclesiastes 4:12, that my children will be like a three-cord rope that cannot be quickly broken.
  2. Romans 2:10, that they be devoted to one another in love and honor one another above themselves.
  3. Acts 2:42, that they devote themselves to fellowship, the breaking of bread and prayer.

My children fight and squabble like everyone else’s kids. They all believe we each have a favorite and they are not it! Lol

I’m glad we are not royalty and that they would be fighting for a throne and a crown. In Bible times, it was not uncommon for a son to kill all of his brothers to get the crown, see 2 Kings 11:1, 2.

Judges 9:5, And he went to his father’s house at Ophrah and killed his brothers…” ESV

Dear Lord,

We dedicated each of our children and we know that they are in your hands. I am grateful that I do not have to worry about them because you hold them.

Amen
