We live in a small house of 640 square feet and part of that is an attached garage! There is a full basement that doubles the square footage and contains a bedroom. Each of our children used that bedroom and it is currently occupied by our youngest.

As our children reached adulthood, they started acquiring items to use when they moved out. The items that caused the most problems were the cups and glasses. They would get a mug at an event, or as a gift, and want to keep it in the cupboard.

The problem is the cupboards are already full. In order to use my Christmas mugs and glasses, I have to pack up my regular mugs and glasses. When my kid’s glasses or mugs were taken out of the dishwasher, I would send them to their bedrooms.

This year, Derek received a mug that said, “I love Jesus and coffee and naps.” He saw me put it in the dishwasher and said, “That mug stays upstairs.”

I was ticked!

I did not endure 5 months of bed-rest to bring him safely into the world, just to have him boss me around 23 year later! I gave him life!

Jesus came to the world he created and was rejected, despised, and crucified by the ones to whom he gave life!

John 1:14, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” ESV

“…He is called the logos, ‘word,’ the term used by the Greeks in reference to the governing power behind all things. The Jews used the term to refer to God. Jesus created everything that is (v. 3) and later came to dwell among his creation (v. 14)…The Lord Jesus became that which he was not before, a physical being (v. 14)…” ESV Hebrew-Greek Key Word Study Bible Notes

Dear Lord,

Thank you for giving me life. Thank you for paying the price to allow me eternal life with you. Thank you for laying aside your deity to become flesh. Help me to lay aside my flesh to become more like you.
