No Condemnation

My husband loves sports…all sports.

I hate sports!

During games, I feel invisible, even when I am sitting right next to him.

When David climbed into bed late last night, after watching a game, and woke me up, I started whining to God, “I feel like David puts sports first in front of me.”

I had hoped for a bolt of lightning to wake him up and for God to tell him his priorities were wrong.

Instead, a soft voice said, “Are you putting David first in everything?”

I had to ponder that!

The voice was full of love, not condemnation. I wanted condemnation for David, but God doesn’t work that way.

John 3:17, “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” ESV

When people say, “Don’t judge,” they are really saying, “Don’t condemn me.” As followers of Jesus Christ, we are free from condemnation.

Romans 8:1, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” ESV

Dear Lord,

Thank you for loving me without condemnation. Thank you for saying what I need to hear in a loving way.”
