I carefully rolled off of the couch and put my coat on to leave. I opened the door and groaned when I saw David had the truck. (Derek took the van to meet his girlfriend at a concert two hours away.)

“How was I ever going to get up in that truck?”

The seat looked as high as the back of a horse! I put one foot up and David somehow shoved me in.

It didn’t hurt to have the stitches removed; but I still had pain under the largest incision. The doctor checked it and told me it was trapped gas. He instructed me to walk around the center of the hospital until it moved.

He told us 8 times around was 1 mile. My husband, the jock. thought it was a great idea! I made it a half of a mile and then started slowing down. David shoved me back up into the truck and took me home.

I remembered that day when I read today’s verse.

Mark 11:11, “So Jesus came to Jerusalem and went into the Temple. After looking around carefully at everything, He left because it was late in the afternoon. Then He returned to Bethany with the twelve disciples.” NLT

It was less than two miles from Bethany to Jerusalem, see Luke 11:18. Jesus walked it twice that day. I guess my assignment for today is to walk.

Dear Father God,

Our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made. You knit them together the first time and you knit them back together after we have surgery. You created us to grow stronger with simple exercise. All we have to do is walk. Thank you for healing my body.

In Jesus Name,
