When I got home from the hospital, I put on a nightgown and my husband made a bed for me on the couch. (The surgeon said not to get in the waterbed.) It has a recliner on each end. I took 2 pain pills and put my feet up with the recliner.
I fell asleep.
Around midnight, I woke up and sat up to go to the bathroom. It hurt!
Clutching my pillow to my belly, I took care of business. I reclined the rest of the night and all through the next day.
By late evening my backside was screaming louder than my incisions! I had to lie down. But I was scared. Wouldn’t it hurt worse than getting up from the reclining position?
Proverbs 3:24, “You can go to bed without fear; you will lie down and sleep soundly.” NLT
David rearranged the pillows and helped me to lie down. My body completely relaxed for the first time in over a day. I slept deeply and the next day my backside was fine.
Dear Father God,
You care about us getting the rest we need. Proverbs 127:2 tells us you give rest to your loved ones. (NLT) You know my anxiety even when I don’t voice it to others. Thank you for taking care of me.
In Jesus Name,
