Pious

When something bad happens, we always try to find a reason why. We want to make sense out of the unthinkable.

Sometimes, the only reason is we live in a fallen world and Satan is trying to kill, steal, and destroy us, see John 10:10.

Job’s friends first tried to explain the catastrophes that happened to him on sin in his life. When they realized that was untrue, they decided he was too good.

Job 22:4, “Is it because you’re so pious that he accuses you and brings judgment against you?” New Living Translation

It doesn’t matter what others say about us. It matters what God says.

Job 1:1, “There once was a man named Job who lived in the land of Uz. He was blameless – a man of complete integrity. He feared God and stayed away from evil.” New Living Translation

Dear Father God,

Thank you for the reminder that the only opinion that matters is Yours. Help us to remember that all accusations come from Satan.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
