Steady

Today I put away my St. Patrick’s Day decorations.

I know you are shocked, but I went to the ER on March 1st and had emergency surgery on March 2nd. The surgeon didn’t release me for regular activities until last Friday.

There are many things I thought I would have accomplished by now…like washing windows. Those tasks are not done and the house could use a good spring cleaning.

Tuesday a fire hydrant, that was installed in 1966, rusted through. The water department knocked on my door at 8:00 am to tell me they had to shut off the water. At 6:00 pm, they came back to tell us we had water, but could not use the hot water until the next morning.

That put me behind in laundry.

As I opened my Bible, I asked God to tell me what to do today.

2 Chronicles 24:13, “The men in charge of the renovation worked hard and made steady progress. They restored the Temple of God according to its original design and strengthened it.” New Living Translation

“Work hard and make steady progress.”

If I keep working on it, a little at a time, eventually the clutter will be cleared and the windows will be washed.

Dear Father God,

Thank You for speaking to me every day. I am glad I do not have to put everything away and clean the house from top to bottom in one day. Matthew 11:30 tells us Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light. I am so glad that I am working for You.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
