Martyrs

Last night we watched 2 parts of the Andy Stanley series, “Tough as Nails.” In it he reported that 2015 was the year the most Christians were martyred and 2014  was the runner-up.

Christians in the middle east and Africa face death daily. God cares about these people. Even in ancient times he was directing them.

Amos 9:7, “‘Are you Israelites more important to me than the Ethiopians?’ asks the Lord. ‘I brought Israel out of Egypt, but I also brought the Philistines out from Crete and led the Arameans out of Kir.'” New Living Translation

The Ethiopians were Africans who lived south of Egypt, see biblehub.com/topical/e/ethiopia.htm.

The Philistines settled on the coast of Palestine, see britannica.com/topic/Philistine-people.

The Arameans settled in Syria, see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arameans.

Dear Father God,

I pray for the families of those martyred in the Middle East and Africa. I pray for courage for them as they continue to live for You. Thank You for allowing me to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
