I woke up really early this morning to go to the hospital where my sister was having surgery. The first thing I read was this:
Isaiah 9:1, “Nevertheless, that time of darkness and despair will not go on forever…” New Living Translation
When I got to the hospital, I told her my verse…“This time of darkness will not last forever…” The surgery went well and the doctor was pleased. She was smiling and sucking on ice when she came out of the recovery room.
A few hours later, she turned, got out of bed to retrieve something, and I just stared at her. I didn’t move like that for two weeks after I had the same surgery!
I told her, “I am glad you are doing so well, but I kind of hate you.”
I went on…“Laughing doesn’t hurt you? I’m going to have to have a talk with God!”
We all have times of darkness. When we look back, we will see that God brought good out of it. My time of darkness led to my sister getting her gall bladder checked. She took care of it before it became infected! I pray that she has a speedy recovery.
No matter what time of darkness you are going through, remember – it will not last forever.
Dear Father God,
Thank you for bringing Michele safely through surgery. I am glad she did not have to suffer like Mom and I did. I pray she recovers swiftly.
In Jesus Name,
