“Why is the worship music so loud?”
There is a definite difference between singing in church and singing at a concert. At a concert, the music is so loud that you can sing with your whole heart and not worry about those around you hearing.
I don’t think church services should be that loud, but is the sound level high enough to encourage fearless, wholehearted worship?
When the music is soft, worship tends to be timid. King Hezekiah did not encourage timid music.
2 Chronicles 30:21, “So the people of Israel who were present in Jerusalem joyously celebrated the Festival of Unleavened Bread for seven days. Each day the Levites and priests sang to the Lord, accompanied by loud instruments.” New Living Translation
“30:21 – or sang to the Lord with all their strength.”
New Living Translation Study Notes
Dear Father God,
How wonderful it must have been to worship with all of their hearts for a week. I remember getting a taste of that at youth camp. I’m grateful that teenagers today can have the same experience. Thank you for the reminder to worship with all of our heart.
In Jesus Name,
