Accountable

There are two couples that my husband and I meet with regularly. They are more than close friends. They are like diamonds and iron. Diamonds, because a diamond can only be shaped by another diamond; and iron, because iron sharpens iron.

When we get together, we tend to separate, the guys catch up in one room and the girls talk in an adjoining room.

It is to these ladies that I confess my failures and struggles. Confession is good for the soul.

James 5:16, “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” New Living Translation

The second half of that verse is quoted often. But, we will not be healed and our prayers will not be answered without confession.

Dear Heavenly Father,

You know my failures before I ever confess them. Thank You for always forgiving me no matter how many times I stumble.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
