I have been diligently using cleaning plan found at She has you split your house into 5 zones and work on the “zone of the week.” Sometimes, the first week of the month consists of only a few days. Sometimes, the 5th week is short.

Last month, I spent an hour cleaning the bathroom floor. I scrubbed, rinsed, and still was not happy with the results. Isn’t TSP the strongest cleaner?

Later, I found out I did not have the right amount of TSP in my bucket. I was going to start over, but decided to work on it again next month.

This week, we were working in our kitchens. Last month I spent 20 minutes cleaning the grime from the ceiling light fixture. I could barely reach it!

This month, I cleaned cupboards. I finished all the lower cabinets and even reorganized the drawers. I gave duplicate utensils to my daughter.

I cleaned one-fourth of the upper cabinets. When I got up this morning I wanted to finish the upper cabinets, but I still needed to dust, sweep, and mop. Reading today’s verse solved my dilemma.

2 Corinthians 8:10, “Here’s my advice: It would be good for you to finish what you started a year ago…” New Living Translation

Sometimes you can’t finish what you started. You have to come back to it later. I saved the rest of the upper cabinets for next month. They will still be there! Besides, next week is the bathroom zone. I am going to strip the floor on the first day!

Dear Father God,

You made the world in a week and took a day off. I am good about resting on Sunday, but I do tend to push myself too hard during the week. You know what I need to do to get ready for the reunion tomorrow and the Faith Conference. Guide me as I go through my list. Show me what can wait until later.

In Jesus Name,
