Last night I played the keyboard for Faith Conference. I chose my outfit carefully: a red maxi dress, white jean jacket, black pumps, and white jewelry. After dressing, I looked in the mirror and thought, “Not bad for a grandma.”
Then a preschooler came up to me, patted my tummy, and said, “Look, you have a baby in your tummy!”
“No,” I replied, “that’s pie!”
I foolishly told my husband about it. When we woke up this morning, he repeated what she said. I will tolerate that from a preschooler; he got the “silent treatment!”
Then I read today’s verse.
Romans 2:4, “Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?” New Living Translation
God is always kind, tolerant, and patient with me. I guess I should give my husband more grace.
Dear Father God,
Thank You for the honesty of children. Thank You for pie! Thank You for seeing me as perfect, just the way I am. Thank You for a husband who loves me just the way I am…even when he gets on my nerves. Help me to show more grace to him.
In Jesus Name,
