Content

I like cream in my coffee.

I usually add 2 or 3 tablespoons. Once I had a lot of cream and I used 5 tablespoons. I didn’t sip that cup of coffee, I sucked it right down!

Last week I was low on cream and limited myself to 2 tablespoons. It lasted until David went to the store. When I got the new carton, I decided to limit myself to 2 tablespoons, even though I had plenty. I am content with less.

Philippians 4:11-14, “Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Even so, you have done well to share with me in my present difficulty.” New Living Translation

“I can do everything through Christ…”

What is “everything?”

  1. Living with almost nothing.
  2. Living with everything.
  3. Living with a full stomach.
  4. Living with an empty stomach.
  5. Living with plenty.
  6. Living with little.
  7. Living with a difficulty.

No matter what situation we are facing, or our circumstances, we can do it with contentment through the strength of Christ. When I am content with less, I have more to share.

Dear Father God,

Thank You for teaching me contentment. Thank You for showing me I can get by with less.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
