Parents

God was serious when he said to obey your parents, whether you are five or fifty.

2 Timothy 3:2-4, “For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.” New Living Translation

Listen to the adjectives describing a disobedient child: money-lovers, proud, stuck-up, rude, ungrateful, godless, heartless, hateful, cruel, uncontrollable, merciless, sneaky, and reckless.

I need to keep honoring my parents even though I am an adult.

When God gave Moses the “Ten Commandments,” he promised long life to those who honor their parents, (see Exodus 20:12).

Dear Father God,

Thank You for the three-day weekend. Thank You for the reminder that when I honor my Mom, I will surely be rewarded.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
