Rewards

Grandma had just taken Benadryl when the phone rang. Mommy needed to go to the Emergency Room, “Could your grandchild come over?”

“Of course,” she replied.

She watched a Disney movie with her grandchild’s head on her lap. Stroking her hair, she prayed for her Mommy.

“Why do some people suffer so much?”

Then Grandma remembered the story of Lazarus, who was poor and sick here on earth, (see Luke 16:19-31). When Lazarus went to heaven, Abraham held him and comforted him. He was given many good things.

I know Mommy will receive comfort and many good things when she reaches heaven, just like the 24 elders.

Revelation 4:4, “Twenty-four thrones surrounded him, and twenty-four elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads.” New Living Translation

Dear Father God,

As we wait for the rewards of heaven, thank You for comforting us here on earth during the hard times.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
