One page of my prayer list is for families grieving the unthinkable. Last week I added the families of all the men who died in Texas. Above them are the families who lost loved ones in the bombings in Orlando, Florida and South Carolina. Also on the list, are the families of those who died in the ISIS bombings in: Paris, Beirut, Japan, and Syria.

Revelation 18:21-24 is a prophecy about Babylon. I couldn’t remember where it was and did some research. The first page I opened had a picture with the caption, “A partial view of the ruins of Babylon from Saddam Hussein’s Summer Palace.”

The ruins of Babylon is in the country that birthed ISIS, “The Islāmic State of Iraq and Syria.”

Revelation 18:24, “In your streets flowed the blood of the prophets and of God’s holy people and the blood of people slaughtered all over the world.” New Living Translation

We saw Revelation 18:24 fulfilled when ISIS slaughtered people all over the world. But we are not without hope. The very next chapter is full of songs of victory in heaven.

Revelation 19:2, “His judgments are true and just. He has punished the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality. He has avenged the murder of his servants.” New Living Translation

Babylon was the mother of all prostitutes, see Revelation 17:5. God will punish those blood thirsty men from Babylon. God will avenge the victims.

Dear Father God,

Not a sparrow falls without your knowledge. You care about those who grieve. I ask You to comfort them.

In Jesus Name,
