It rained this morning and the sun came out around noon. My eyes are constantly turning to the big, picture window. It’s amazing how water brings life to the earth.
Iowa is a sea of green in July. The varying green fields of: corn, soybeans, alfalfa, clover, prairie grasses, and pastures. Around the fields are woods, where there are several shades of green from: evergreen trees, leafy trees, shrubs, and ground cover.
In town, there is the velvet green of lawns, set in a patchwork of lots, dotted with a rainbow of flowers. Everywhere I look the plants are bursting with life, because they just received the water of life.
Humans need the water of life, too, not just the physical water that comes down in rain. The water of life makes us feel alive, makes us productive, enables us to fulfill our purpose here on earth.
“Who can have the water of life?”
Revelation 21:6, “…To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life.” New Living Translation
“Where does it come from?”
Revelation 22:1, “Then the angel showed me a river with the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb.” New Living Translation
“How much can you have?”
Revelation 22:17, “…Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life.” New Living Translation
Dear Father God,
I pray that all who are thirsty come to You for the water of life. I pray that You make us thirsty for more. I thank You that anyone who comes to You will receive the water of life. Revive us, Lord.
In Jesus Name,
