“Mom, what did you do to the stairs? My shoes squeak when I walk on them.”
“I washed them with a different soap. Now they are squeaky clean!”
As I washed them, I wished I could paint them; but there is damage and bare spots. They need sanded before painting. It is not wise for me to sand them.

I stapled clear, thick plastic under the stairs to keep most of the dirt off the boxes stored underneath. I tried using an old shower curtain, but it tore away from the staples. I could still see some of the first staples.
I can’t sand, but I can remove staples! I pulled the staples, and the next day, filled the staple holes. It looks like I painted the risers!
In the chapters today, God told Jeremiah what to stop doing. Yesterday, God told me what to stop doing.

Jeremiah 15:19, “This is how the Lord responds: ‘If you return to me, I will restore you so you can continue to serve me. If you speak good words rather than worthless ones, you will be my spokesman. You must influence them; do not let them influence you!'” New Living Translation
Sometimes, God asks us to: let go, trim back, and say no.
“Every yes automatically says no somewhere else…cut out that which seems good to invest in the best…Early sacrifice for later bounty…” Ann Voskamp, aholyexperience.com
Instead of obsessing about what I can no longer do, I returned to God and He restored me.
Dear Father God,
Thank You for forgiveness. I’m grateful I never started playing Candy Crush or Pokémon Go! I’m sure I could lose hours playing them. Guide me through my day.
