Assigned

God is the Master Weaver!

He weaves the details of my life. He shows me things that will help me later. Today I was studying Psalms 105:1.

Psalms 105:1, “Give praise…” New International Version Study Bible

Cross reference #1Acts 2:21. I saw a map of the countries of people mentioned at Pentecost. It showed 5 nations on the other side of the Euphrates river. I could see what King Neco was referring to in…

2 Chronicles 35:20, “After Josiah had finished restoring the Temple, King Neco of Egypt led his army up from Egypt to do battle at Carchemish on the Euphrates River…” New Living Translation

King Neco’s army was just passing through. If King Josiah had stayed in his assigned place, and not picked a fight with King Neco, he would not have died.

Cross reference #2 – 1 Chronicles 16:7, “That day David first appointed Asaph and his associates to give praise to the Lord in this manner.” New International Version Study Bible

2 Chronicles 35:15, “The musicians, descendants of Asaph, were in their assigned places, following the commands that had been given by David, Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun, the king’s seer…” New Living Translation

Not only do I need to stay in my assigned place, I need to follow the commands of my leaders – past and present. Sunday, we will be playing a song written in 2000. It was one of the first songs Derek learned to play for the worship team when he was 12. (Yeah, I made him start pretty young.)

I can’t play it like I did then; an electric guitar will play the lead. I talked it over with the other keyboard player. She will be playing a counterpoint to the electric guitar. I need to play an accent part or rhythm…but that would be boring.

God is Never Boring!

I’ll be listening to various videos of the song until I find the right accent part.

2 Chronicles 35:6, “…purify yourselves, and prepare to help those who come…” New Living Translation

I am purifying myself, (No Spider Solitaire), and preparing to help those who come worship.

Dear Father God,

Thank You for weaving all the details of my life together. You threw a curve ball today. Help me hit it out of the park.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
