Micah prophesied that Jerusalem would be destroyed during King Hezekiah’s reign. The people turned from their sins, worshiped the Lord, and begged him for mercy. The Lord changed his mind, see Jeremiah 26:17-20 and 2 Chronicles 29:6-11.
It’s not too late for us, if we do the same! But, we are not to act out of fear as Uriah son of Shemaiah did, see Jeremiah 26:20-24. Or seek great things for ourselves…
Jeremiah 45:5, “Are you seeking great things for yourself? Don’t do it! I will bring great disaster upon all these people; but I will give you your life as a reward wherever you go. I, the Lord, have spoken!” New Living Translation
We don’t have to go into hiding, because the Lord will hide us, see Jeremiah 36:26.
Dear Father God,
I repent, worship You, and beg for mercy for our country. Let the change start in me. I trust You. My life is hidden with Christ in God, (Colossians 3:3). Help me to live without fear.
In Jesus Name,
