I spoke with a friend who is being let go from a job she has held for 16 years. I told her God had a plan. Yes, she will grieve, because it’s a job she loved, but it was a job for a season in her life.

It would be easy for her to blame the new boss, but when we serve God, people do not move us; God does.

It’s like the mother eagle pushing her young out of the nest, because she wants them to learn to fly. She pulls out the grass that makes the nest comfortable, until the eaglets are sitting on branches. She pushes them out, but they never hit the ground. She always catches them. Eventually, their frantic flapping turns to flying.

In the chapters today, we read the Lord is sovereign 23 times!

“…the Sovereign Lord…” Ezekiel 12:10, 19, 23, 25, 28 (twice); 13:3, 8 (twice), 9, 13, 16, 18, 20; 14:4, 6, 11, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 23.” New Living Translation

“Sov·er·eign (adjective) possessing supreme or ultimate power. Synonyms: absolute, unlimited, unrestricted, boundless, unconditional, total…”

The supreme, ultimate power is directing my friend. She’s will be better than okay…she’s going to fly!

Dear Father God,

Thank You for the reminder that we are to share what we learned during painful experiences. Thank You for the reminder that You have this under control. Help us to continue trusting in Your plan.

In Jesus Name,
