If

I woke up yesterday and listened to the results of the election. I said, “Okay, God, I prayed during the election, now what.”

His reply? “Pray harder.”

Isaiah 17:5, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord.’ ” New Living Translation

We cannot put our trust in a person or a political party. We have to trust in the Lord.

We are all wanting the same things: food, peace, and to sleep without fear. A political party cannot give those things to us. They only come from God. . . but He has some requirements.

Leviticus 26:3-6, “If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send. . . rains. . . crops. . . fruit. . . You will eat your fill and live securely in your land. I will give you peace in the land, and you will be able to sleep with no cause for fear. I will. . . keep your enemies out of your land.” New Living Translation

If I follow God’s decrees and I am careful to obey His commands, He promises: rain, crops, fruit, security, peace, sleep, no cause for fear, and to keep our enemies out of our land.

Pray. . . Follow. . . Obey.

Dear Father God,

Thank You for the promises in the Bible. We can read time after time where You intervened to protect Your people. We will continue to pray for our leaders and continue to trust in You. Show us what we can do to help the needy living in our neighborhoods.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
