Begun

Somebody came home last night and Laura turned the TV up.

“Why did you do that?”

“Because Mom is going to yell at you for breaking the Christmas Tree.”

It didn’t happen . . . it’s a miracle!

God worked on my heart all afternoon and I was able to calmly explain what happened. God diffused a fight before it could even start.

Somebody went to work with pliers!

Deuteronomy 3:24, “O Sovereign Lord, you have only begun to show your greatness and the strength of your hand to me, your servant. Is there any god in heaven or on earth who can perform such great and mighty deeds as you do?” New Living Translation

Moses saw God in a burning bush. He watched as God’s power went through him and Aaron to bring on the 10 plagues in Egypt. He watched God open the Red Sea and dry the ground to allow the Israelites to walk through it and then bring the water back down over the Egyptians, drowning them all.

For 40 years, Moses saw God provide bread, meat, and water in a desert – once out of a rock! He protected them from their enemies; led them to war, where not one of their soldiers died, Numbers 31:49.

Moses spent 40 days and nights on the mountain with God. God even walked passed him, allowing him to see his back because you could not see his face and live. God talked to Moses like a friend. And after all this, Moses said,

“You have only begun to show. . . !”

I have not yet begun to see the miracles God wants to do for me!

Dear Father God,

Thank You for all the wonderful gifts You gave us this year. The furnace and air conditioner, the new laptop, the new washer, to name a few. Thank You for helping me in my relationships with my family. Thank You for taking care of the people who are dear to me. I expect even more miracles ahead. Help me to see them.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
