Yesterday, after shopping, we had lunch at “Bonaparte Retreat Restaurant” in Bonaparte, IA. The building is over 100 years old and the food is good. It is in a historical area on the Mormon Trail. Since it was Laura’s birthday they treated us to ice cream. The only problem was we felt stuffed and all we wanted to do was take a nap!
Deuteronomy 32:15, “But Israel became fat and unruly; the people grew heavy, plump, and stuffed!” New Living Translation
Today’s verse is nothing like how the Bible described David.
1 Samuel 16:12, “So he sent for him and had him brought in. He was glowing with health. . .” New Living Translation
This holiday season I want to glow with health, not be heavy, plump, and stuffed! I will remember these two verses as I eat at Christmas parties. And supper last night was cauliflower, broccoli, and trail mix.
Dear Father God,
Paul said he buffeted his body, meaning brought it under submission, not eating at a buffet. I only have one body and I want to take care of it. Thank You for the reminder of the results of my eating and exercising.
In Jesus Name,
