They described Moses as a very humble man, (see Numbers 12:3). Joshua was his assistant and he learned humility as well.
Joshua 3:7, “The Lord told Joshua, ‘Today I will begin to make you a great leader in the eyes of all the Israelites. They will know that I am with you, just as I was with Moses.’ ” New Living Translation
Joshua did not say, “Today you will see that I am a great leader” to the Israelites. He said,
Joshua 3:10, “Today you will know that the living God is among you. . . .” New Living Translation
Joshua 4:14, “That day the Lord made Joshua a great leader in the eyes of all the Israelites, and for the rest of his life they revered him as much as they had revered Moses.” New Living Translation
Joshua learned from Moses. We learn from studying the Bible.
Joshua 1:8, “Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” New Living Translation
Prosperity and success only come when we study the Bible, meditate on it, and obey everything written in it. I’ve seen posted on Facebook, “No matter who is president, Jesus is King.” I wonder, “Are they giving their king his share?”
Genesis 14:20, “. . . Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.” New International Version
“A tenth was a king’s share (see 1 Samuel 8:15, 17).” New International Version Study Bible Notes
Dear Father God,
Humbling ourselves is not a comfortable thing. Asking forgiveness is not a comfortable thing. More and more, I am praying for others to forgive me. Keep my heart soft.
In Jesus Name,
