Iron

I just got a haircut. It took almost an hour for Amanda, from the Bee Hive, to cut my curls and shape them into a winter style. It’s amazing what she can do with her tools.

Joshua 8:31, “He followed the commands that Moses the Lord’s servant had written in the Book of Instruction: ‘Make me an altar from stones that are uncut and have not been shaped with iron tools.’ ” New Living Translation

“An altar made of unhewn stones – An altar is for forgiving and iron is for punishing.” ABC’s of the Bible

An arrested man is “put in irons” – handcuffs and shackles around his ankles with iron chains connecting them. God didn’t want iron tools used on his altar because he is not looking to punish us. He offers forgiveness.

Dear Father God,

I am grateful for Your forgiveness. You are a God of love and put all the punishment for my sins on Jesus at Calvary. Thank You, Jesus, for carrying my sins.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
