Tunic

Friday, January 6, 2016

Tomorrow is Calie’s LuLaRoe Pop-up Boutique. This is the first time I’ve heard of this company. (I don’t get out much.)

I love that each item has a girl’s name. (The men’s clothes have boy’s names.) I also love that they have clothes in tall sizes. I’m sure I really need to go, but David may not agree. He might even quote today’s verse.

Luke 9:3, “He said to them, ‘Take nothing for your journey: no staff, no bag, no bread, no money. And do not take two tunics apiece.’ ” Modern English Version

I guess the disciples washed their tunics frequently. I can’t imagine going away even for a weekend with only 1 extra shirt! It doesn’t say how long they traveled. Jesus’ ministry lasted 3 years; they could have traveled with one tunic for a year or more! I’m glad Jesus didn’t ask me to do that!

Dear Father God,

You made us girls to love clothes because our husbands want a well-dressed lady. Please help them to understand why we need to shop.

In Jesus Name,

Amen

It was worse than I thought! They only had the clothes on their backs!

Mark 6:9, “But to wear sandals, and not put on two tunics.” Modern English Version
