Transfigured

“Transfigured means to transform into something more beautiful or elevated, i.e. ‘The glow of the sunrise transfigured the whole landscape.’ ” google.com

Over and over we read that Jesus went to a mountain or a deserted place to pray. He knew when he met with God in a solitary place he would be changed.

Matthew 17:1, 2, “After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother and brought them up to a high mountain alone, and he was transfigured before them. His face shone as the sun, and his garments became white as the light.” Modern English Version

Moses was transfigured when he met with God. The glow on his face was so unnerving that they were afraid to come near him, (see Exodus 34:29-35).

This is why we meet God privately because we change. The more time we spend with Him, the more beautiful we become.

Dear Father God,

I am grateful that You are with us always and we are never without You. I can’t describe how special it is when I am alone reading Your word and talking to You. You give me a word, instruction, or just a phrase to ponder every day. I ask You to pass a hunger on to read the Bible to everyone who reads this blog.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
