Little

When we think of God, we picture Him in heaven with Jesus sitting on the right-hand side of His throne. You would think the archangels: Gabriel, His chief spokesman, and Michael, who heads His army, would be close by, too.  But who truly has his ear? Who can speak to him face to face? The guardian angels of children!

Matthew 18:10, 14, “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven. . . . So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.” Modern English Version

The chapter I read today in “Smarter Faster Better” by Charles Duhigg, said:

“A person’s odds of dying in a specific year spike slightly at birth – because some infants perish soon after they arrive – but if a baby survives its first few years, it is likely to live decades longer.” Smarter Faster Better by Charles Duhigg

This is the reason I pray for babies, as soon as I find out they are on their way, until their first birthday. I pray 2 Kings 2:21 – no miscarriages, stillborns, or crib deaths. It is God’s will that not one of them should die. It’s the favorite page on my prayer list. I can’t help but smile as I read their names: baby Cody, Asher, Brayden, Delainey, Talullah, Andrew, Emma, Harper, and Gideon!

Dear Father God,

Thank You for the babies! I pray a hedge of protection over them and their parents. I know they are dear to Your heart. Let me be more like a small child, trusting you, optimistic, and hopeful.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
