Justify

I shared on my last post that sometimes I regret blogging about the daily verse God shows me. It’s neat when I get direction or affirmation, but not when I get correction! When I share my faults, I try to explain what happened but really I am justifying myself.

Luke 16:15, “He said to them, ‘You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For that which is highly esteemed before men is an abomination before God.’ ” Modern English Version

Only God knows when I am failing because He sees my heart. I may do something that looks good, but with the wrong attitude. Or, I may do something less desirable, but my heart is in the right place. Like I said, “Only God knows.”

The good news is when I fail, and repent, God throws my sin as far as the east is from the west and He forgets it!

Dear Father God,

I am grateful that You are a forgiving God. Some may misunderstand me, but You know my heart. Create in me a clean heart.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
