Little

When the Israelites went to battle, they sent the Ark of the Covenant first, (see Joshua 6:1-5). Their first battle with the Philistines they tried to fight on their own. When they lost, they decided to bring God in the fight, but they still lost. Why? They had compromised and served other gods.

1 Samuel 7:3, “Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, ‘If you are returning to the Lord with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and Ashtoreths from your midst. And make firm your hearts unto the Lord, and serve Him only. Then He will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.’ ” Modern English Version

“Just as you own the home you live in, so the Christ who lives in you owns you. And when you own a home you rearrange it the way you want it. Likewise, Jesus moves in and commandeers your hands and feet, requisitions your mind and your tongue. . . .He has a plan for your life, and He also provides the power to fulfill it. . . .surrender and cooperate fully with Him.” GRACE by Max Lucado

Little by Little

When we turn our lives over to Jesus Christ, He rearranges things little by little, (see Exodus 23:30 and Deuteronomy 7:22).

Isaiah 28:10, “He tells us everything over and over – one line at a time, one line at a time, a little here, and a little there.” New Living Translation

Dear Father God,

I am grateful that You work little by little. Open my eyes to the areas where I compromise. I chose to put You first.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
