Pastor Peggy Knudsen shared this verse a few weeks ago. She said she prayed this verse daily through Bible School and in the early years of their ministry.

Proverbs 16:3, “Commit your works to the Lord and your thoughts will be established.” Modern English Version

During my prayer time, I talked to God about the three tasks on my list for today:

  1. Update and type my prayer list.
  2. Paint the stairs.
  3. Get the forms to order meds online.

I asked God to show me which project to tackle. I was sure He would reply #1 because it is spiritual, or #3 because I may need them soon.

2 Chronicles 15:8, “. . . And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was before the vestibule of the Lord.” Modern English Version

I had talked myself out of painting the stairs before I read this verse. It’s a huge job. The last time I painted, David and Derek didn’t even notice the drastic improvement in the living room but they did complain about the smell. It will take me 2 days to paint them and we have company coming tomorrow night. (Yes, I’m whining.)

But the only task on my list that is a repair is painting the stairs. And they will look beautiful when we walk down them to have our Easter dinner.
