Golgotha

Yesterday, I put together an “Easter Egg Treasure Hunt.” The clues are all related to the Easter Story. There is no way my 6-year-old granddaughter will be able to find them all. I made it difficult to keep the interest of the adults who will be helping her.

As I was filling the eggs with clues and hiding them, I thought of Easter dinner and time with my family. When I read today’s verse I wondered what God was thinking and feeling as He formed the place called, “Golgotha” or “Calvary.”

Mark 15:22, “They brought Him to the place called Golgotha, which means ‘Place of the Skull.’ ” Modern English Version

“The place of the skull. It may have been a small hill that looked like a skull, or it may have been so named because of the many executions that took place there.” New International Version Study Bible Notes

What a great love God has for us! He created a place for His only Son to die which paid the price for our sin!
