Today we celebrate Jesus Christ’s victory over death and the grave.
The chief priests and Pharisees knew Jesus was going to rise from the dead. They read the prophecies in the “Book of the Law” and heard Him tell others that He would die and then rise. They thought they could prevent it by human means.
Matthew 28:65, “Pilate said to them, ‘You have a guard. Go your way. Make it secure as you can.’ ” Modern English Version
This verse comforted me today. Confused? It was the phrase, “Make it secure as you can.” Do your best.
Over half of the songs I will be playing today are new. I had them down, but at worship practice, we added several chords to 3 of them. Oh, and a funky rhythm. . . and a new arrangement.
I practiced for two hours Friday but when I practiced yesterday it was like I forgot how to play! That funky rhythm sounded flat. I was hearing other chords we had not thrown in and don’t even get me started on the new arrangement.
I was unable to completely memorize 2 of them and decided I had better write out some “cheat sheets” with the chord progressions. I threw a roll of masking tape in with my music to tape them down. That will “Make it secure as I can!”
