I was talking with a webmaster last night and compared my blogs to a few others he knew. I’m not selling anything; I want to help people. My photos are not pristine but they are authentic. I don’t tell you what you want to hear; I tell you what you need to hear. My subjects are not cute and cuddly, like puppies and children, but they direct you to a life of peace and rest – if you listen.

Joram didn’t listen. Elijah prophesied that Ahab’s blood would be licked up by dogs on the place Naboth died when Ahab had him killed to acquire his land, (see 1 Kings 21:17-22). He went on to say God would wipe out Ahab’s descendants.

Ahab died in his chariot after being wounded in battle. They washed his blood out of the chariot and dogs licked it up on that spot, (see 1 Kings 22:38).

You would think Joram would have avoided that piece of land! But he met Jehu on the property of Naboth the Jezreelite, (see 2 Kings 9:21), and died there.

I write about living frugally because I want you to avoid disaster. Jobs end or you get seriously ill, and the income dries up. Do you have an emergency fund? Where can you find money to build one? By cutting corners, and reducing expenses. How? There are 7 years of ideas on frugalfish.org.

The Bible is alive. It speaks to you every time you read it. That is why I write Bible Reading Guides. That is why I share how a verse spoke to me in my daily life. But you have to read it. You have to ask God for a verse to show you how to untangle a difficult problem or give you direction for your day and carefully do what’s written in it.

2 Kings 10:31, “But Jehu was not careful to walk in the law of the Lord God of Israel with all his heart. . . .” Modern English Version

Jehu was not careful and God began to trim off parts of his kingdom, (see 2 Kings 10:32). Are we gaining or losing ground? Are we listening to or ignoring God?

Dear Father God,

I fail daily and I’m humbled that You have given me these blogs. Thank You for Your Living Word. Thank You for the direction You have given me in the past. I praise You because I see where You kept me from painful situations. Guide us as we take the steps necessary to live according to Your plan.

In the Name of Jesus Christ,
