I was late to practice last night. We left at the normal time but there was an ambulance. My heart sank when I saw everyone there, at their places, waiting for us. I sent an apology with an explanation to the music director.
I don’t know about you, but I fail daily. I am late. I say something less than kind. I always apologize but still feel guilty.
I am grateful I did not live in Old Testament times. Each time someone committed a sin, known or unknown, they had to sacrifice a lamb. Now we just repent and go on because Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice – once for all.
Hebrews 7:25, 27, “Therefore He is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, because He at all times lives to make intercession for them….for He did this once for all when He offered up himself.” Modern English Version
I present my guilt to God and Jesus intercedes for me. He is the ultimate mediator. He says, “Yes, she failed but I already paid the penalty.”
Forgiven. Forgotten. Forever.
