Leaders

Today is our family reunion. The forecast is: sunny and windy with a high of 93°. (Eczema flourishes at 80° and the wind keeps the pollen stirred up.) After discussing it with my husband, we decided I would go long enough to eat, but I would not stay for the traditional softball game. (Yeah, like I would participate.) I will follow his plan because he is my leader.

My other leader is the music director. “Faith Conference” starts today and he has been busier than a one-armed wallpaper hanger.

He went over the new songs with me on Wednesday before church. We practiced for all 5 services on Thursday night. He accidentally gave both of the keyboard players instructions to play the same sound and parts on two of the new songs.

“Wait, I thought you wanted me to play rock organ.”

“Sorry, I want you to play the synth. There’s a cool part at the beginning.”

“So, forget everything we went over earlier?”

“Yeah, I’ll send you a link.”

“When?”

“Monday at 5:30 p.m.” (He laughed.)

“Alrighty then.”

(We start playing at 6 p.m. I will be in route at 5:30 p.m.)

The link with a complete demonstration arrived early the next morning. I can’t complain about my leader – but can he complain about me?

Hebrews 13:17, “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they watch over your souls as those who must give account. Let them do this with joy and not complaining, for that would not be profitable to you.” Modern English Version

I know that both of my leaders are watching out for me! I hope when they give an account it is with joy!
