Things

Last night at Faith Conference, Dr. Bill Winston preached on “The Kingdom of God.”

“Luke 17:20, ‘The kingdom of God is in you….’ The kingdom of God will lead you to whatever is needed regardless of circumstances…. ‘The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy,’ Romans 14:17….The kingdom of God is a production center for whatever is needed.”

He set an alarm on his phone. When he had 29 seconds left, he asked if we wanted him to keep going. We said, “Yes” and he preached another hour.

The Presence of God was so strong, that when he gave an altar call to accept Christ, I wanted to go forward! Several came to the altar. Then he called those who accepted Christ as their Saviour but were not living like it. Two ushers and a few others went down to the front.

He then called those who were fearful and more came forward. His fourth call was for the stubborn! A handful joined the others. He gave one last call and a final young man joined the 20-25 people in the front.

I believe each of us examined our hearts and repented of what the Lord brought to our attention. I didn’t understand my urge to respond to the altar call until today.

Galatians 5:19-21, “Now the works of the flesh are revealed, which are these: adultery, sexual immorality, impurity, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousy, rage, selfishness, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I previously warned you, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” Modern English Version

It doesn’t matter how long you walk with the Lord, you still will battle the works of the flesh. When the Spirit of God was moving, He revealed strife, selfishness, and envy in my heart. They were things I had to lay down.
